I began my airline career with Piedmont Airlines 2/18/81. I was promoted to Supervisor with Piedmont in May of 1985. I was a Supervisor with US Airways until my election as President of CWA. Before my election, I served on the Executive Board of CWA Local 3641 for six years under the previous Presidents, James Root, Jose Gomez and Jimmy Chastain. I have been married for 45 years and have two sons and three grandchildren.

I have been with US Airways for 27 years. I started in 1982 with Piedmont Airlines in Charlotte. I transferred to Toledo, Ohio in 1990 and was there 11 years. I became involved with the CWA as a Shop Steward when I returned to Charlotte in 2001. I have been on the Executive Board for seven years as an Area Representative, Vice President and currently the Executive Vice President.

I started with Piedmont in 1984. Since then, I’ve worked in small stations for a total of eighteen years, in reservations for three years, and have now been in CLT for the last four years. During my time with the airline, I spent twelve years as a CSS. I’ve been married for 17 years and have two kids.

My career with US Airways began in January 1999 as a fleet service agent. In June 2000, I transferred to the customer service department as a gate agent. I performed all functions as a CSA until 2005 when I was promoted to a customer service supervisor. In 2004, I became a Shop Steward for CWA 3641. I gained valuable experience representing CLT and learning the grievance procedures. In 2005, I was elected to the CWA Executive Board as an Area Representative. I served a three-year term representing CLT, MEM and CHS. In 2008, I was re-elected to the CWA Executive Board as Vice President. I look forward to serving your needs as a CWA member. I started with Pacific Southwest Airlines in SFO in 1972 and transferred to SJC in 1979 when I married Larry, a fellow PSA employee. After the merger with US Airways and the resultant station closures, we relocated to CLT. During my years with the airline, I’ve worked at the ticket counter, the gates, the service counter, baggage service, operations, and POC. I’ve been the Secretary/Treasurer for our Local since 2006.

John started with US Airways in Charlotte in January 2005 as a CAR and became a CSA in International in February, 2006. John has been living in the Charlotte area with his wife, Linda, for nine years. Both are originally from the Chicago area. He worked in Chicago, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Hartford and Baltimore before moving to Charlotte. He has three daughters from a previous marriage and five grandchildren.
